Speaker Profile: Nageswara Rao, a.k.a KNR, is a Senior Director and Site Lead of the
India Engineering Center of Sun Microsystems India Pvt. Ltd. He also
holds a parallel portfolio of heading the World Wide Product Sustaining Organization for SWI (Software Infrastructure) Products. Prior to his current position, KNR was the director of Solaris Organization in India, heading the Solaris Revenue Product Engineering Team.
KNR was instrumental in leading the efforts for evangelizing Open Solaris in India, primarily in the academic community.
KNR has been in Sun for 9 years and is an industry
veteran of 22 years in IT. Prior to his employment in Sun, he has
worked in various positions in Tata Infotech Limited and in the Indian
Telephone Industries.
He has a Bachelors degree in Physics from Madras University and a
Bachelors degree in Electrical Communication Engineering from the Indian
Institute of Science, Bangalore.
He is fun loving and loves interacting with people. His other interests are studying Human Behaviour, playing Bridge and Reading

Amarnath Raja

Speaker Profile: Amarnath Raja is the Chief Executive Officer of InApp Information Technologies, an Indo US company based out of Technopark, Trivandrum.
He graduated from Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi in 1979 and joined the National Dairy Development Board at Anand. He was a part of the team that established 'milma' under the Operation Flood programme.
In milma, he started with the project of building the new Quilon Dairy Plant and was its first Manager. He then moved to Trivandrum to take up the assignment of Manager Planning and Systems. As early as 1988, he established a full ERP system for 'milma', making it one of the earliest 'Fully Computerised' operation in any government organisation.
After about 16 years in milma, he went on to join IBM Japan in Tokyo and was appointed as the Technical Services Manager at JP Morgan, a large account of the IBM Global Services Division.
After three years at IBM Japan, he along with his partners decided to establish a company at Trivandrum for software development and export. Thus was born InApp Information Technologies, which he is currently the CEO.
He has also been active in the professional bodies in Trivandrum and has been the Chair of the Computer Society of India, Trivandrum Chapter and the IEEE Kerala Section. He is also currently a member of the Board of IEEE Asia Pacific Region.
He is very active in the Free Software Movement in India and is one of the founders of SPACE - Society for promotion of alternative computing.
He is a visiting faculty of IIITM-K and Asian School of Business.

Speaker Profile: Mayuresh Nirhali works in the Solaris Revenue Product Engineering group focusing on Virtualization technologies. He is based in Sun's India Engineering center, Bangalore. With 7 years of software development experience at Sun, his current focus area is Sun's Virtualization Solutions. He has been maintaining Open Source software packages for OpenSolaris. He has also contributed to MySQL, Java DB (a.k.a Apache Derby) and PostgreSQL among the open source database systems. Prior to that, he has worked on Java MobileandEmbedded projects as well. Mayuresh is an avid Open source evangelist with
several Customer presentations, University workshops and student project mentorships.

Speaker Profile: Mr. Jayaraj has been with Amrita since 2000. He has been the Principal Investigator in a number of R&D projects sponsored by Department of Science & Technology, Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Board of Research for Nuclear Sciences, Technology Information Forecasting & Assesment Council and Konkan Railway Corporation Ltd.
His primary areas of R&D are Information Security, Embedded Systems, and Networking. He has been working with GNU/Linux since 1994.
Prior to joining Amrita, he worked with Pacific Bell, California (now AT&T) and Wipro Technologies, Bangalore. He is currently pursuing his PhD in Denial of Service attacks.

Chandrasekhar Nair

Speaker Profile: Mr. Chandrasekhar Nair, more popularly known as the 'Kerala Farmer' was born in the year 1949. He was educated at a Malayalam medium primary school. He joined the Indian Army in November 1968 with the Air Defense Artillery Wing. He also underwent a missile guidance course in the United Kingdom.
He was a veteran of the Bangladesh and Pakistani wars after which was posted to the Missile unit and eventually took up volunteer retirement in November 1985.His primary interest right from childhood was Agriculture.
His main cause is provide social justice to all farmers by fighting against the irregularities from wear and tear.
He has made a conscious effort in blogging right from June 2005 and started using GNU/Linux from September 2007.
